We want to help tenants and rental owners better understand the energy usage in their properties, find ways to reduce monthly utility bills, and help achieve community climate goals. Our Rental Property Efficiency Map includes average bills for thousands of rental homes, as well as a growing number of efficiency ratings for rental homes.

What makes a home energy efficient?

We rate properties based on insulation (attic, floor and walls), windows, heating system, and hot water system. Properties can earn extra "points" for having solar panels or participating in other EWEB programs.

The highest point total is 100. Each home displayed on the Rental Property Efficiency Map has a dot with a color-coded rating.

  • Bronze: Earned at least 30 points
  • Silver: Earned at least 50 points
  • Gold: Earned at least 75 points
  • Red: No efficiency information available

If you do not see a particular home on the map, the home may not currently be recognized as a rental by EWEB.

Get an efficiency score for your rental

The tenant or the rental property owner can request a free rating from EWEB using this application. You'll need to be able to answer questions about features of your rental such as insulation levels and appliances installed. If you need assistance, email our energy experts at ems.answers@eweb.org or call 541-685-7088.

Find your property on the map

Enter an address (upper right box) to see a listing, or use the zoom controls (upper left) to look more closely. Click on a dot to see the home's average utility bill. For homes that have received an EWEB efficiency rating, additional information is provided including efficient features (such as insulation or a heat pump with cooling), and whether there may be additional energy bills (such as gas, heating oil, or wood).

Note: Average bills as displayed are based on the last 12 months of consumption patterns. Consumption patterns and actual bills for new occupants may vary significantly.

Want to improve your home's efficiency rating?

We offer rebates and loans for your home or rental property that can help offset the upfront cost to upgrade windows, insulation and appliances. Income-qualifying customers may be eligible for expanded rebates or loans. Learn more.
